Fastpacking Takeaways:
* Radius is obviously smaller than with a bike but setting up camp, getting food is way faster
* running at night is boring at first but after a couple of hours you’re completely spacing out
* A good backpack that has a proper fit goes a long way
Took the metro and hiked the last 10k home. Knee is better but still hurts.
Apart from that, fastpacking is fun, hard but fun.
Well that’s it for today. Made it to a village with metro access. If the knee ain’t better tomorrow I’m taking the train home. It’s nothing serious I believe, just hurts like hell. Not used to running these kind of technical trails, especially with a backpack and in the dark 😁
More mountain trails, knee and heat are getting worse. Didn’t think I’d have problems on the first third of the route there is no shortcut home for the next 25k 😅 But first, a little siesta.
These trails are not really made for running. Slow progress but nice views. Left knee is starting to hurt. Let’s see if stretch, refuel and rest helps 🤔
There it is. Spanish carbs and a quadropresso 😍 Maybe I should get something with vitamins as well 🙈
Good morning, sleep was okay a bit cold. Other than that the sleeping system works fine. I’m all packed again and ready for the first leg to the next village to get some breakfast 🤤
Down I go. Dehydrated raspberry crumble and a few hours of sleep. Gotta get up soon to escape the heat 🔥
Not the only one marching through the night. Turning into a fully fledged mountain hike now… getting tired, pushing it some more 😗🎶
Jup, still going. It’s very dark and steep. The trail is pretty difficult to run. Drinking fountains on the map seem to be accurate though. Quick refueling and off we go.
Ready to send it! The star stopped throwing radiation at me, it’s still 30*C but I’m too exited to wait any longer.
Vale, let’s try something different this weekend. Bikepacking without the bike but in running shoes #fastpacking Here is my gear:
