my internet is currently a 50m lan cable that runs through a bar, a kitchen, a window, up three floors on the outside of the house, through another window, and finally patched into the telephone wiring that runs the remaining 20m corridor

and it's still better than the one in my old flat (...although i have some weird and super annoying xmpp issues that might be connected)
